have you ever noticed that the world and all of its people are not always friendly or treating each other equally? yes we all know what that is.. racism. yes there is no slavery yes there are no more things that make absurd treatment of another race BUT there still is. we all know that there are people in this world that do not like black people, we know there are people that don't like white people [i don't like a few myself...] but at least i give everyone an equal chance to impress me before i just turn my back on you! i find it kinda racist when you treat ever race besides your less or worse then your own. example my black drivers ed teacher is a plum racist, if she doesn't realize it then that's her own problem but anyone who is not black in the class can. She accused my Mexican friend of talking to this other Mexican while she was speaking and well i know for a fact that she wont say a word to anyone? AND whats worse is that she called ME out the other day? our you freaking serious lady? i am a A class student.. i do what i am told i fallow the rules no questions asked. and she called me out saying that i was "playing around" with my friend. uh no not at all lady. i was asking for a highlighter. you can certainly call out those easily once their skin color is not the same as yours. BUT when you have a class clown.. disrespectful piece of jerky in the class who cuts up and everything else you can mention guess what happens? oh you knew it was coming! nothing?! wanna know why? he is black! gah.. only till that kid hid under a table trying to be even funnier is the point where she nicely called him over to have a talk! not a stern voice when i asked for a highlighter or a yell when my friend was "talking" to another random person.
Yes i racism is frowned upon by common society these days but i know that it is here and i know that it is in some peoples hearts and mind. if you don't believe you are racist today think about this, do you find your race better then another? do you not like a Mexican? did you vote for Obama just because he was black? if you answered any of these.. you are a plum RACIST. think on it
Right on. Racism comes in all sizes, shapes and colors. I despise the term "reverse racism" too....there's no such thing. Bigotry/prejudice outside your own race is racism, regardless of who does it. Wish we didn't live in that kind of world, but most people denying that any ethnic group can commit racism is a big reason it still exists.
ReplyDeleteTechnically, there still is slavery. We have now termed it "human trafficking". I suppose it sounds better than slavery, but that's what it is. I have heard statics that it is worse now than when slavery was legal in the 1700's and 1800's.
ReplyDeleteAs for the rest, it is right on. Something that bothers me is the idea of differentiating things for everyone. Yes some people need to be handled differently to get them to perform up to their best. However, sometimes it feels like I am supposed to differentiate based on race and not on individual needs. Frustrating!
